Two Shows, One Comeback: What These Last Two Weekends Taught Me

Two weeks.

Two shows.

One hell of a comeback.

If you’ve been following my journey on YouTube or socials, you’ll know this prep has been about more than just stepping on stage. It’s been about rebuilding. Not just muscle – but discipline, self-worth, and a new standard for myself. After 14 years away from competing, I made the decision to return to bodybuilding to show my kids – and myself – what it looks like to commit, truly commit, to something again.

PCA Show – Peterborough, 15th June 2025

This was my first time back on a competitive stage in over a decade. I came in lean, tight, and conditioned – but we played the peak too conservatively. The look I brought was flat and downsized, and it showed. I took 2nd place in my class, narrowly missing out on the win.

It stung – not because I lost, but because I knew I hadn’t showcased the physique I’d built. Still, I earned an invitation to the PCA British Finals, and left with valuable experience and perspective. That show was a reminder: getting there isn’t enough – you have to bring your best when it counts.

BPA English Grand Prix – 21st June 2025

One week later, I stepped on stage again – this time with BPA. We adjusted the peak approach, came in fuller, harder, and drier. This time, I brought the look I knew I had in me.

And I walked away with 1st place.

It wasn’t just a win – it was redemption. A moment that confirmed I’m on the right path, and that the work I’ve put in is paying off. I’ve now qualified for both the PCA British Finals and the BPA British Championships, and I’m more locked in than ever.

What I’ve Learned

• A loss can build momentum. That 2nd place at PCA wasn’t a failure – it was a catalyst.

• Don’t play it safe. Bodybuilding is about risk, timing, and pushing the edge. Playing it too safe cost me.

• The journey matters more than the trophy. But when the trophy does come – it hits different after the setbacks.

There’s more to come. This was never about one show – it’s about proving what’s possible when you back yourself fully.

This is just the beginning.
